Offered are two molded-glass footed cocktail bar wares from Iittala’s “Ultima Thule” collection designed (originally in 1968) by Tapio Wirkkala: a pitcher and an ice bucket.
Ultima Thule is used to reference the furthest possible place in the world and Wirkkala’s glassware by this name alludes to the icy cold reaches of Scandinavia.
Each of the pieces from this collection have textured sides that reference the icy terrain of the Northern Hemisphere and are created in Finland by a time-laboring technique that involves the molten glass burning the surface of the wooden moulds.
The pitcher measures 4.375″ in diameter at its widest, 6″ across in width across from pouring lip to tip of handle, and 8″ in height.
The ice bucket measures 5.5″ in diameter (bottom), 4.5″ in diameter (top), and 5.125″ in height.
NOTE: The stainless steel cocktail spoon is a prop, not included.
