Brilliant color serigraph by listed artist Seikichi Takara (Hawaii, 20th c.)
Serigraph dimensions 32″ wide x 34″ high. The period black lacquer frame measures 46.5″ x 49.5″.
The serigraph is in very good condition (please see images).
The frame is lightly distressed and included in used condition.
The serigraph is from a very limited edition of 75. This is number 56/75.
A contemporary frame could give this vintage print a new life. Be sure to use archival materials when re-framing.
Seikichi Takara, a self-taught artist born and raised an the island of Oahu is a second generation American of Okinawan ancestry.
Takara has been recognized Internationally for his abstract, expressionistic paintings. His painting “Lunar Seed” an abstract was one of ten selected to become a commemorative poster for the Smithsonian Institutes Air and Space Museum Bicentennial Celebration in 1983.
Takara has had numerous one-man and group shows in Hawaii and the mainland, including Okinawa and Germany. His works were exhibited in several Artists of Hawaii juried shows at the Honolulu Academy of Arts.
Takara’s works are in many private and corporate collections including the Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts
