Vintage Design
Unique bookcase designed by the highly acclaimed Dutch designer duo Tejo Remy & Rene Veenhuizen in 2012.
Only three of these bookcases were made. Two are in a museum, of which one is in the Centraal Museum in Utrecht, and one prototype. The one we offer here is the prototype, acquired by the previous owner straight from the designers.
Tejo Remy and Rene Veenhuizen are famous for their ‘Chest of Drawers’, one of the best-known Dutch modern designs which is part of the collection of the MoMa among other museums worldwide.
The Rag Chair is another great design, both designed in 1991 for Droog Design.
Funny about this bookcase is that they worked the other way around. They started with the outside, a waterproof fabric, and filled this with polyurethane foam, which is obviously visible.
The bookcase can also be used as a room divider.
Very interesting piece for the collector.
The bookcase is in very good original condition, only little traces of use.
