Per Julius, born in 1951 in Örnsköldsvik, Sweden, is a self-taught artist known for his detailed, naturalistic representations. He is particularly celebrated for his idyllic landscapes of the High Coast (Höga Kusten) region in Sweden, often featuring birch trees and tranquil environments. Since 1986, Julius has also explored French landscapes, living first in Annecy and now in Nice. His works, typically watercolors, are noted for their delicate attention to nature’s subtleties, evoking a sense of calm and harmony.
Julius has exhibited his works widely in Sweden and abroad since 1972. His pieces are part of significant collections, including the National Museum of Monaco, the Swedish Parliament, and many municipal collections throughout Sweden. He has also completed public commissions for organizations such as Rotary International in France, American Express, and the Swedish Tourist Association.
This particular painting exemplifies Julius’ ability to capture nature’s serene beauty. The vivid greens of the forest and the clear reflections in the water create a calming and immersive experience for the viewer.
