English chess table with marble inlay, by Crook Richard and Son, c. 1840 An English mahogany chess table, by Richard and Son Crook, furniture makers and upholsterers, 50, Boutport street Barnstaple, c.1840. On each side of the table is a drawer for the Chess pieces to store. The table has an octagonal shape, raised on a fluted base with leaf pattern. The 4 feet has a round leaf shape (shows some wear) The measurement is 72 cm high, 73 and 62.5 cm wide. (1 Inch = 2.54 cm) The weight is approx. 30 kilograms.
