A superb antique burr walnut leather top desk. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1900-1910 period.
The quality is outstanding, this is beautifully constructed and has a gorgeous inset green leather top. The sides and front edges are beautifully shaped, the back is nicely finished, so it can be used as a free standing item. The corners are canted and this stands on cabriole legs with shell carving at the knees and beautifully scrolled feet. The burr walnut grain patterns are gorgeous, the drawers have double herringbone borders around the edges, lovely brass handles and fine, hand cut dovetailed joints.
We have had this recently re-polished, the condition is excellent for its age.
