For his Gucci Fall/Winter 2001 collection, American Tom Ford designed this sleek partly-knit pullover tunic with plunging V-neck collared suede front that drapes in a reverse V-shape on the torso. It is paired for warmth with stretch-wool on the back and very long sleeves. Ford’s trademark sexy deep neckline is narrow and so more discreet with a sinuous drape above the centered front seam on the leather panels tailored with darts. The calfskin suede is unlined, which enables sensuous skin-to-skin contact.
Made in Italy, the size “S” can fit up to a U.S.-size 6.
Notably, 2001 was the year that Ford won the CFDA Womenswear Designer
of the Year Award, while also debuting his premiere collection under
the label Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche following the iconic brand’s acquisition by the Gucci Group.
